Identification and simulation of nonlinear systems using methods of scientific computing. This note deals with the problem of validated parameter identification and simulation of nonlinear systems. We apply methods of scientific computing to handle uncertain data and to yield verified enclosures of the solution, initially gained from the software package CONTIDNS (CONtinuous Time IDentification of Nonlinear Systems). This package employs delayed state variable filters and an orthogonal parameter estimation algorithm for parameter identification and includes a simulation applying numerical integration. For the orthogonal parameter estimation algorithm a rounding-error analysis is performed. We illustrate the presented method for a quadratic approximation model of a differential cylinder and give the results of the validation.
