Solving PDEs with Hermite interpolation. Through simple examples the authors illustrate the basics of a partial differential equation (PDE) solver built on Hermite interpolation. The examples are implemented as Matlab programs and freely available as part the CHIDES (Charles Hermite Interpolation Differential Equation Solver) library url{}. The initial release of CHIDES is contained, besides the Matlab implementation of the examples discussed in the article, various subroutines and drivers are written in modern FORTRAN illustrating and enabling the construction of Hermite PDE solvers on structured meshes. The future releases are planned, including more complex capabilities such as coupling with discontinuous Galerkin methods on hybrid grids, as well as implementations on overset grids.
