MICROQL: a chemical equilibrium program in BASIC. Computation of adsorption equilibria in BASIC. MICROQL is an multicomponent chemical equilibrium computer program. It is based on the version originally implemented by J.C. Westall (Westall 1979, 1986) using the BASIC language. The program calculates chemical speciation in aqueous solution at thermodynamic equilibrium. The new version that is used in our teaching and research activities (microql) comes with a user interface (jQL, written in Java), which helps to build step by step chemical entities, chemical species and chemical equilibrium systems. The generated chemical equilibrium systems are saved in text files, which are then used by the core program (microql) for the calculation of chemical equilibria.
